Create an adorable frame with a wall decal for a great message board that you can use over and over again. Trading Phrases gets crafty once again!
The Frame That Says It All!
Okay so I know many of your families are probably like mine- either you are both rushing to get out the door in the morning, or one of you wakes up hours before the other and sneaks off with a kiss… when you get home you are in a hurry to get dinner on the table, catch up on the events of the day, get the kid(s) ready for bed, etc… and there isn’t a lot of time for romance. This blog will show you how to make a sweet gift (right in time for Valentine’s Day) that will allow you to remind your spouse just how much you love them each day with very little work or craftiness needed!
This beautiful frame is so easy to personalize- change out the frame, the backing paper, the color of the vinyl, etc. to match your décor. For my project I chose items I had already around the house, but might change it up later on to add a new spin to it. *Frame (mine is a white frame on clearance at Target sized 8 x 10 sale for $4) *Paper- I used colored paper, but cardstock, printed paper and even fabric will work for this! I also considered using a photo, but my black marker didn’t show up well over it. *Trading Phrases “I love you because” decal. Any color/size you’d like. *Dry erase marker (darker colors will show up better)
Like I said, I had all of those items (sans the vinyl) hanging around my house, so it doesn’t take too much thought or work to do this project.
Steps: 1. Clean frame if needed (mine did) and remove back. Pull out the paper that comes in it and replace with your fancy paper cutting or folding the excess paper if it overhangs on the sides.
2. Replace the back of the frame and flip it over so that the glass is facing you… make any adjustments needed to paper inside of the frame (if needed) and get out your vinyl!
3. Apply vinyl as per instructions (remove backing, stick, rub on, peel off tape) where you’d like it on the frame. I chose to put mine towards the top so that I had more room to write. Take your marker and write a sweet message! Voila!
I plan on giving this to my husband as one of his V-Day gifts this year and can’t wait to see what sort of messages he’ll write to me (selfish gift, much?), and what he thinks of the idea. I think it will be a great way to remind each other daily of why we love each other and really keep our marriage strong. What do you think of the idea?
I’ll update what he thinks in comments! Thanks for reading, post pictures of yours so I can see them too!!
