So, I got new flooring.
It's this tiger striped bamboo and I absolutely love it! I love the way that it looks and I love that it is environmentally friendly. Yay! But, I noticed that my stairs were looking a little dull and I needed to give them a little nudge to help them to stand up to the strong design style of the flooring. So, I painted the risers with Raisin from Sherwin Williams and that helped, but still.....something was missing.
I wanted to make them more interesting and personal, but how? What should I use? I knew that I wanted to add color and I knew that I didn't want to spend hours and hours on this project. So, once again, I decided to use vinyl decals.
I chose some paisleys (ART918) fromTrading Phrases. The decals arrive in sheets, so the first thing that I did was cut them into individual paisleys and sort them by color.
And....Here is the finished product! One of the great things about decals is that if I change my mind in 6 months....which I have been known to do.....I can simply remove them and try something new! This didn't cost a fortune, and it was a quick project (about 1 hour from start to finish). Applying the decals was super easy and the look is exactly what I wanted. Now I love my stairs, and every single person that comes inside my house comments on how fab they are!! Yay!
What do you think?
