Okay you know you want a decal above your couch... and you've even narrowed it down to which- but there are so many size options- which should you pick!? This handy guide will help you make that tough decision so much easier.
Being an employee at a wall decal company, I frequently am asked, "What size decal should I purchase to go over my couch?"... or crib... or bed... etc. Actually, I would love to be able to advise customers on what size to order, but it is such a tough question to answer! Your couch, bed, etc. might be a different size than others- and on top of that it depends on what other elements you have in the room, the size of the room itself, and how far on average you will be standing away from the decal. Each design we offer is measured in inches, width x height. We have found that the method on deciding what size to purchase that has been most successful is to grab a roll of painter's tape or masking tape and measure out the size you are contemplating purchasing and tape that size on the wall right where you want the decal to go. Stand back, ponder, and decide if that size will work, if you need it to be larger, or if you need it to be smaller. Try to keep in mind if this is a text design the sizes of the text. To help you further, I put together a size chart for a few of our most popular sizes to be a guide to your decal sizing decision. There are four different sizes above an average sized furniture set to give you an idea of what some of our sizes might be close to in your home. If you come to a situation where we don't offer the size you are looking for, contact us with the design change request form located HERE, and we would be glad to work with you on a custom size, free. If you have no idea what size you want, try the tape method again, but this time tape out the size you think would work best in your space, measure it, and order the size closest to what fits those measurements. I hope this helps! Feel free to contact us any time you need any help, sizing or otherwise. We are here to help YOU! |
