Hi Trading Phrases fans! Have you seen the new trend of turning old windows into hangable art for your home? If not, just check some of the crafts out on Pinterest. (Go ahead, I'll wait....)
So cute, right?! We decided to put our own spin on it with this craft. Does this look like something you'd hang in your home?
All you need to have to make it is:
-
a window
-
any decal from us that will fit on your window
-
any photos that you want to display
-
adhesive dots
Now for the steps!
-
Grab all of your supplies, including your photos. You can get copies made or print them off yourself, whatever works!
-
Spray your window with glass cleaner. Wipe down the glass and wait a few minutes for it to dry completely.
-
Cut your decal out. Lay it and your photos out on your window and paly with the arrangement until it looks exactly how you want it to look!
-
Once it looks great, peel off the decal's backing paper and apply it to your window where you wanted it. Burnish (ie-rub) it all over with the handy pink installation tool included in your order. Remove the application tape.
-
Take a few adhesive dots and stick them to the back of your photos. Put them where you like on your window! With the dots, you can switch the pcitures out later for new ones if you want!
Cute, right? What's even better is that it took almost no time to put together! You can even change the decal and the photos in this craft to be exactly what you want, so it's completely personalized. it would make a great gift or holiday decoration! We love this craft and have so many ideas for it!
You can also paint your window before you start the craft for a cute pop of color! We din't, but it would look really eye-catching! Here's what you'll need for that:
-
some newspaper (for the drips!)
-
some fine-grain sandpaper
-
painter's tape
-
acrylic paint in any color
-
a paintbrush
First, prep your surface! Run the sandpaper over the frame and dust it off. Cover the surface with newspaper and tape the glass around the frames with painter's tape to protect them from any wayward paint drips! Then, just give the frame two coats of your acrylic paint in whatever color strikes your fancy! Let it dry and then do the steps above for an awesome look!
