No more searching for your dish in a sea of casseroles! This snazzy personalization trick will have everyone asking how you did it!
'Tis the season- football, holidays, crisp cool air, falling leaves, and potlucks. Undoubtedly you have been invited to some get-togethers as the weather is cooling and people are turning to comfort foods. I know I have!
Well, here you are with your casserole in a sea of generic glass dishes. The potluck is over, the food is gone, and you are now sifting through the leftovers to find your dish to take home. Where-oh-where could yours be?
You could've saved yourself this grungy search with one simple, beautiful solution. It's a snazzy way to personalize your pan and have everyone (not even kidding- all the other ladies scanning that table) asking how you possibly did what you did. Want to know a secret? It is super easy!
We are now offering pyrex or glass stencils on our website. Sweet...so what do you do with them?
Step 1: Pick your design from our site here and order. We have both artsy decals and ones that you can customize with your name. You can find the whole category of them HERE.
Step 2: Clean all those little nibbles from your pan. Flip it upside down, center the decal on the bottom, and apply your decal. Make sure that it is really pressed in so nothing can leak under it! Another girl at our office found it easier to peel the backing off the decal, leave it on a flat surface sticky side up, and then press the pan down onto it. I found that applying the decal to the pan was easier, but do whatever works best for you!
Step 3: Apply etching cream. This is what we used "Armour Etch" which we picked up on Amazon, but you can get a much smaller bottle. We recommend that, since you only need maybe 4 tablespoons for your largest pan. When you apply it, make sure to spread it as evenly as possible across the entire design quickly, then go back and apply more. You don't want it to etch more on one half while you slowly, carefully apply it, so slather it on over everything to start with. Then you can go back and make it look perfect! You don't want to see your pan through the cream. You can use a paint brush or popsicle stick to smooth it out. I also REALLY recommend wearing gloves and following directions on the bottle. Remember, this is an acid!
Step 4: After 30 minutes, scrape off the excess cream, put back in your container (you can use it again!), and rinse off the etching cream. DO NOT remove decal yet!! Once it is rinsed, wait for it to dry. When the glass is wet you won't see any difference. After it is dry you can see the etching through the decal. Make sure it all looks even and fully etched. If it doesn't, do a second round. Slather, wait, rinse, check!
Step 5: Remove the decal, admire your handiwork, and throw the pan in the dishwasher for an extra-good cleanse!
Step 6: Make your favorite casserole and enjoy your party...and the compliments! Oh, one mroe thing...this will last forever so you won't have to do it again and again!
