Matcha! Matcha! Matcha!
If you haven't heard of matcha you are truly in for a treat! A strong green tea powder that has many uses (and recipes) that you either love or hate. Personally, I fall into the group of people that LOVE matcha.

There are thousands of matcha recipes out there- everything from lattes (Starbucks Copycats) to scones and even ice cream! However you take it, we now offer it for sale on our site. Check it out here: https://tradingphrases.com/matcha-sencha.html And read below for a few of our favorites as well as information on health benefits of matcha.

See that beautiful powder? It is incredibly versatile, flavorful, and good for you!
"It also happens to be packed with vitamins and polyphenols - incredibly useful antioxidant molecules that help to prevent cancer, heart disease, and aging. According to nutritionist Shira Lenchewski, matcha has "7x more antioxidant action than regular green tea - it's great for improving immunity function and reducing inflammation."

Combined with a powerful punch of vitamins, matcha has natural caffeine that can replace your daily cup of joe. With 70mg of caffeine per cup (compared to cofee's 100mg) I can feel the extra jolt of energy but without the jittery feel that coffee provides.

"Matcha Caffeine is a slow-release and less irritating to your body than coffee caffeine"
So how do you make it? Traditionally you dissolve the powder in water and drink it as an earthy tea, but for those that need a bit more oomph you can turn it into a latte with little effort and a big payout!
Green Tea Latte:
1/2-1 teaspoon (approx) of matcha powder- more or less to taste
1/2 cup hot water
1.5 cup milk (coconut, cow, almond, cashew, soy, etc)
sweetener to taste (optional)

Whisk together powder with hot water until it is fully dissolved. Boil milk on the stove until bubbles begin to form around the edges. Pour milk into green tea mixture and stir until fully combined. Add sweetener if desired. Enjoy!

Here is a less-flattering photo of MY latte I made yesterday. My kids and I gobbled this one up before I could really think about making it pretty. That is cinnamon dashed on the top of mine. Yummo!
You can also see how to make one with a slight variation from this link to PopSugar Mom'sFacebook videohttps://www.facebook.com/PopSugarMoms/videos/10153848405315250/

My favorite green tea scone recipe is here: http://1001teafacts.com/matcha-green-tea-scones-easiest-recipe-ever

More photos of my green tea lattes! I had one with breakfast this morning. Love it!

And keep checking in, I plan to create a whole pinboard of tried and true matcha recipes here soon.
